A brief foreword by Helen Hayes is followed by a picture-heavy history of the American theatre with hundreds of photographs of actors, actresses, stage scenes etc (all in black and white), including several references and images of John Gielgud.

Condition

Good condition. The spine is a little faded, the cloth rubbed to the spine ends and corners, some tanning to the pages but otherwise a good copy.
