Here are six hardback books either written by or illustrated by Denys Watkins Pitchford, or BB as he was sometimes known.
England is a Village by C Henry Warren. illustrated by Denys Watkins Pitchford (Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1941). First edition, second printing. No dustwrapper. A good reading copy, boards a bit rubbed and some spotting to the page edges.
The Fisherman's Bedside Book, written & illustrated by BB. (Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1945). First edition, small hardback in dustwrapper. The book is a good reading copy, the dustwrapper is tatty. Previous owner's inscription.
The Countryman's Bedside Book, written & illustrated by BB (Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1947). Fourth impression. Hardback, a dull, tanned but readable copy.
Letters from Compton Deverell, written & illustrated by BB (Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1950). First edition, first printing. Hardback, red cloth. Spine faded but contents clean.
A Child Alone, The Memoirs of BB, written & illustrated by BB (Michael Joseph, 1978), Second printing before publication. Hardback in dustwrapper. A nice copy, price-clipped wrapper. Previous owner's inscription.
The Naturalist's Bedside Book, written & illustrated by BB (Michael Joseph, 1980). First edition, hardback in dustwrapper. A nice copy, price-clipped wrapper. Previous owner's inscription.
Condition
Please see above, all in strong readable condition but the earlier books quite dulled and rubbed, mostly due to the wartime economy paper.
