Quite a scarce collection of short tales of the immigrant communities in Limehouse, East London, including Chinese, South American, Irish, Russian etc, for example, there's a story of Patrick Ching Hi, the ‘Chingie’ of the story's title who is an eleven-year-old Catholic Chinese-Irish boy who tries to evade the school bullies by invoking stereotypes of Chinese mysticism and martial arts powers to keep his abusers at bay... A book of its time.

Condition

A good copy in good readable condition, but with some fading to the spine, a very slight lean and foxing to the page edges and margins.
