First thus. Two volumes, bound in the highly decorated faux leather boards. Each 21.5 × 14cm. LOTR 1077pp, Hobbit 255pp + maps.
J R R Tolkien's two most enduring stories, Frodo's journey to destroy the Ring and defeat Sauron, and Bilbo's expedition to raid the treasure-hoard of Smaug the dragon. Both volumes illustrated with maps, and The Hobbit with Tolkien's illustrations in black and white.
Condition
An attractive set. Both volumes with previous owner's bookplate, and some light spotted foxing to the page's top edge and and a little to the fore-edge. LOTR with some minor corner creasing to a few pages but essentially both remaining in strong readable condition.
