Undated, c1905. Small hardback, full burgundy soft leather with gilt titling to spine and front. All edge gilt. 14 × 9cm, 1031pp + 2pp maps.
An attractive pocket Bible, with some very stylish gilt titling to the spine and front. The book is printed in double columns and contains both the Old and New Testaments, with two lightly coloured maps of Assyria and Palestine, and two colour plates, one each before each Testament. Undated but 1905 is the earlier of the inscriptions in it.
Condition
A nice Bible in overall good condition. There is some light rubbing to the leather. The ffep is slightly torn as someone has covered a previous owner's inscription and then someone else has tried to uncover it, leading to a little damage. However, the main body of text is in good order.
