A scarce early issue of The Britannia Magazine, the journal for the Cadets at the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth. The magazine was founded in 1884, and at this time in its history was published three times a year (Easter, Midsummer, and Christmas). This magazine contains photographs, an editorial, sports and recreation, cartoon, letters from cadets etc, and with sports results for the season. This issue contains a frontispiece photograph of the Matron in charge (Miss R Falconer, RRC), house notes, the college play (The Olde Ships Company), as well as rugby results and match reports etc, with team photograph. The last three pages of text are the names of the officers, masters and full list of cadets, with a group shot of the Hood Term.
Condition
This copy is in good condition. There is a little wear to the base of the spine but the binding remains in good order and in good readable condition. Cadet's name to the front cover (Cadet Simons).
