Printing Details
Second edition, first printing. Hardback in dustwrapper. 24 × 17.5cm, 600pp.
This special edition, published to mark the centenary of Sir Noel Coward's birth, records and extraordinary career as writer, actor, producer and director that spanned over sixty years. Coward's major works (Hay Fever, Private Lives and Blithe Spirit) have proved so durable that they have entered the standard repertory alongside the plays of GBS and Oscar Wilde. The authors, Day and Morley, have followed the original Mander and Mitchenson format, and have lovingly restored the lost years since the Companion's first publication in 1958 with synopses and first-night cast lists of all Coward's major plays, together with lesser known works. Each entry is accompanied by extracts from Coward's own autobiographical writings.
Condition
A good copy but there is a dent in the middle of the front cover (just over Noel's right cheek) and some bumping to the corners but otherwise the book remains in strong readable condition.
