Full title: Johnson over Jordan, The Play and All About It (An Essay)
An unusual play for Priestley at the time of writing. Johnson over Jordan is the tale of recently deceased businessman, Robert Johnson, who is now in limbo trying to make his way to the Inn at the End of World, and the occurrences that happen on his journey. The dustwrapper shows Ralph Richardson in the title role of the first production in 1939. The book also contains a 22 page essay by Priestley on the play's genesis, writing, production difficulties, and critical reception...
Condition
The book is in good solid condition, though with light spotted foxing to the page edges and the prelims. The dustwrapper is rubbed to the edges and joints with some slight loss to the top edge, and a previous owner has placed their own repair to the inside of the wrapper (not a bad effort!).
