For this book, the authors investigated hundreds of apparent hauntings in the state of Alabama before selecting thirteen for eulogy. The foreword explains the presence of Jeffrey, and includes a photograph of the ghost taken after a night trying to communicate with him on the Ouija board. The thirteen account are: 1. The Ghost of the Angry Architect, 2. Death Lights in the Tower, 3. The Faithful Vigil at Carlisle Hall, 4. The Specter in the Maze at Cahaba, 5. The Phantom Steamboat of the Tombigbee, 6. The Unquiet Ghost at Gaineswood, 7. The Face in the Courthouse Window, 8. Mobile's Pipe-smoking Captain, 9. The Return of the Ruined Banker, 10. The Hole That Will Not Stay Filled, 11. Huntingdon College's Red Lady, 12. The Crying Spirit at the Well, 13. The Dancing Ghost of Grancer Harrison. The book is illustrated with black and white pen and ink drawings and photographs.
Condition
Good condition. The book is in strong readable condition but with an ugly stain to the bottom edge, mostly visible to the page edges only but creeping up a little to pages 48/49 and a little either side. The dustwrapper is chipped and rubbed to the edges with a closed tear to the front panel but is now within a protective sleeve.
