Francis Marshall was a fashion illustrator who worked for Vogue, and here he records a 1949 trip to New York, profusely illustrated with his pen and ink sketches of the sights and people, whilst writing his observations. He visits Fifth Avenue, Madison Square Garden, Chinatown, the Subway, has a Long Island Weekend, sees the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and the Wall Street Skyport. A fascinating record, beautifully illustrated.

The book is in very good condition, the dustwrapper a little worn to the edges with tape marks at the top and bottom but not price-clipped and now within a protective sleeve.
