Full title: A List of the Officers of the Army and Marines with an Index, a Succession of Colonels and a List of the Officers of the Army and Marines on Half-pay 1794

A fairly early copy of the Army List, giving names of the Field Marshals, Generals, Lieutenant-Generals, Major-Generals, Colonels, Lieutenant-Colonels, Majors, etc of the British Army, followed by a listing of officers for each of the regiments which is indexed by surname. This is followed by the Succession of Colonels for regiments, and a list of the officers of the Land Forces and Marines on Half-Pay (English and Irish), this is again indexed by surname.

Condition

Good condition for age. The rebinding has been done to a high standard and the inner binding is secure. The title page has been written over by a Thomas Pennie (?) of Swansea who purchased the book in 1842, and there are several signatures belonging to the Cosby family who I think feature in the lists. The pages are a bit tanned, with occasional marking but on the whole this remains a very good readable copy.
