Undated, c1895. Miniature edition. Bound in soft leather. All edges gilt. 5.5 × 4.5cm. 861pp. *Dated by the fact that Clowes' Complete Edition was published between 1889–1904, and the publisher's address of 13 Charing Cross was their base from the 1880s through the late 1890s, just into the early 1900s.
An attractive miniature Hymns Ancient and Modern, containing the hymns for Church services throughout the year and Saint's Days etc, illustrated with a frontispiece of young choirgirls / charity school girls reading hymnals.
Condition
This copy is in good condition for age. There is a small closed tear of about 1cm to the rear hinge and a little creasing to the corners of a few pages due to the thin India paper used. Inner binding secure. Neat pencilled ownership name to reverse of ffep.
