Charles Fox's study of the late Stuart monarchy in Britain, specifically looking at the reigns of Charles II and James II during the late 17th century leading up to the Glorious Revolution of 1688. The French translation was published three years after Fox's death in 1806. Fox was a Whig politician who researched the book whilst touring the sights of the French Revolution. It was first published in England in 1808. This edition has a lengthy introduction on the life of the author.
Condition
A good copy. There is wear to the leather binding commensurate with age, the pages are clean and the binding secure. The book does have a slight mustiness.
