De Ligne's Mémoires et Mélanges Historiques et littéraires is a collection of writings by the Austrian field marshal and author Charles Joseph, Prince de Ligne. Published posthumously, it combines personal anecdotes and reflections with observations on historical events and literary matters. It offers valuable insights into European court life, military campaigns, and the intellectual climate of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Condition
Good reading copies. Whilst the four volumes are complete, and with the portrait and facsimile present, the pages are comprehensively foxed throughout although remaining in good readable condition. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume.
