The book claims that in October 1943, at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, the U.S. Navy conducted top-secret tests using Albert Einstein’s Unified Field Theory to render a Cannon-class destroyer escort, the USS Eldridge (DE-173), invisible to enemy radar. According to Berlitz and Moore, high-frequency magnetic generators did far more than hide the vessel from radar: The ship was surrounded by a greenish fog, vanished visually from the dock, and was instantly teleported roughly 200 miles away to Norfolk, Virginia, before reappearing back in Philadelphia minutes later, and also makes claims severe physiological and psychological side effects for the crew. Men allegedly vanished into thin air, suffered severe mental trauma, or were fused directly into the steel bulkheads of the ship hull.
