A facsimile edition of François Balthazar Solvyns' original 1798 / 1799 Calcutta etchings first published by Edward Orme in the early 1800s and features full-colour reproductions of the 60 original plates depicting 18th-century Indian trades, occupations, social castes, and cultural life (such as bhistis, weavers, astrologers, palkiwalas, and musicians), accompanied by Solvyns’ original commentary. This edition was launched in May 2012 alongside an exhibition titled "The Costume of Hindostan: Exhibition of Eighteenth Century Engravings" at the India International Centre (IIC) in New Delhi.
