An offprint from the Transactions of the Linnaean Society, this is a comprehensive taxonomic breakdown and inventory of the marine and freshwater decapod crustaceans collected primarily along the coasts of British India (especially the Gulf of Mannar, Madras/Chennai coast, and surrounding waters). There are five full page plates, which are high-detail lithographic illustrations drawn to scale, which show carapaces, claws (chelipeds), and diagnostic appendages vital for identification.

Condition

Good condition. There is foxing to the first few pages of text but clean thereafter. The plates are in good order. The leather binding rubbed to the spine ends but secure.
