Printing Details
This is an original fashion colour illustration, showing a lady wearing a summer bridal gown. It dates from the late thirties. The paper measures approx. 28 × 47 cm, and is in pencil and watercolour / gouache.
This is an elegant summer wedding gown constructed from a lightweight, fluid fabric—likely a fine silk chiffon, organza, or georgette. It features a finely ruched, sweetheart bodice and a paneled A-line skirt that flares gently out to the floor, and with matching sheer jacket or bolero with short, dramatically puffed leg-of-mutton sleeves. A cluster of fresh, purple-pink flowers is pinned directly into the centre of her bodice. Her makeup features an intense magenta lip and rouged cheeks to match the dramatic background shadow.
The artist is unknown.
