Arthur Cayley Headlam here reconstructs the 1st-century Palestinian political, social, and religious environment using Roman histories, rabbinic traditions, and the writings of Josephus, to study the life and teachings of Jesus. He argues that the Gospel narratives align precisely with verified historical realities, and that modern critical and scientific analysis validates the traditional Christian understanding of Jesus’s ministry, teachings, and divine identity.
