Printing Details
Three early 20th-century editions of plays by Luigi Pirandello, one of the most influential playwrights of the modern era. These specific volumes were published in Florence by Bemporad & Figlio between 1924 and 1925. They are paperback editions, each 19.5 × 13cm. Italian text.
Il Piacere dell'Onestà (The Pleasure of Honesty) No XIII, 1925. Explores the irony of a man who lives "too" honestly, to the point where it makes everyone around him uncomfortable.
Pensaci, Giacomino! (Think it Over, Giacomino!) No X, 1925. One of his earlier successes, focusing on an aging teacher who attempts to subvert social norms by marrying a young woman just to ensure she receives his pension after he dies.
La Vita che ti Diedi (The Life I Gave You) No VIII, 1924. A haunting tragedy about a mother's refusal to accept her son's death, choosing instead to keep him alive through her memory and will.
The title of the series, Maschere Nude, is the collective name Pirandello gave to his entire body of dramatic work.
