The second of the National Gallery's War Pictures booklets, published to record artist's responses to the war in artwork held at London's National Gallery. A brief 4 page introduction by Eric Newton (the art critic, artist and writer) is followed by examples of work by Paul Nash, Edward Bawden, Edward Ardizzonr, Stanley Spencer, Eric Ravilious, Carel Weight, Henry Moore, and Barnett Freedman. The front cover shows 'Part of a Row of Bombed Solicitors' Offices, Swansea' by Graham Sutherland. Most illustrations are black and white, with five in colour.
Condition
Good condition. Some light creasing and wear to the covers. There is tanning / yellowing to the margins and some rusting to the staples but otherwise good.
