A rare late Victorian issue of the Royal Horticultural Society's Journal for 1895. The first half of this issue is a collection of articles and presentations, including:
Tomato Disease in Guernsey by A Collenette,
Crystal Palace Fruit Show, 1895 (prizes, exhibits, essays etc),
The Plants and Garden of the Canary Islands by Dr Morris,
Nut-growing in England by J Omer Cooper,
Brunswick Method of Asparagus Culture by Mrs Johnston.
The second half contains are extracts from the proceedings of the Society, including reports from the Temple Show of 1895, the Scientific, Fruit, Floral, Orchid, and Narcissus Meetings, and trials at Chiswick (kidney beans, cabbages, dahlias etc) and with occasional illustration.
Condition
The binding is a little dull, occasional marking to the cloth Some age-toning to the pages but the inner binding is secure and the books remains in strong readable condition.
