The author, Eva Mary Bell, was a novelist and the wife of a British officer in the Indian Army (Lt.-Col. George Henry Bell, a professional soldier who fought at Loos in the Great War, he became ill whilst serving in Mesopotamia and died in Karachi in 1916). This novel gives a full and intimate picture of life in an Indian regiment.
Condition
This copy is in very good condition for age, with just some offsetting to the front endpapers and pastedown, otherwise a very good, solid copy.
