Printing Details

First edition, second impression. Hardback in dustwrapper. 19.5 × 13cm, 383pp.

The story of Molly and Auberon Garth, and their friend Victor. They enjoy a care-free childhood but then comes the Great War, Victor and Auberon enlist and serve in the trenches, Molly serves as a nurse tended the wounded. A moving WW1 novel about the pressures the serving men and women lived under, and whether they could survive what they'd seen and experienced.

The dustwrapper is quite striking comparing the two different lives of the characters with rifles crossed with oars, and along the bottom, on one side a punt with reeds and a calm stream, on the other barbed wire of the Western Front.

Condition

The book is in good condition, with some light spotted foxing to the page edges. The dustwrapper is chipped a little to the corners and edges, with light fading and a little loss to the head of the spine but it has not been price-clipped.
