A total of 452 design projects in national, academic and public libraries were reported to the editors in this period, and 121 are chosen for detailed appraisal. Structures of all sizes are covered, including notably the National Library of Scotland and Queen Mary and Westfield College Library. Outline data is supplied for all the design projects researched. For notable projects, material gathered by an editorial team of librarians on inspection visits is presented in the form of critical appraisals, augmented by photographs, plans and tabulations of architectural data.
