Printing Details

First edition, first printing. Hardback in dustwrapper. 22 × 14.5cm, 224pp.

"National independence, political democracy, individual freedom—these are the three ideals most widely and passionately held in the modern world. To what extent and under what conditions are they compatible? To what extent is each a means to the others? What methods can subject peoples use to achieve the first without putting it out of their power to achieve the other two? This book is an attempt to answer such questions as these. It does not discuss the problems of any particular country or people, it does not condemn or justify any party or movement; it is nether for nor against 'imperialism' and 'colonialism'. It seeks only to raise general issues."

Condition

The book is in good condition for age, with some tanning to the page edges. The dustwrapper is faded to the spine and edges, and with some splashmarks but is essentially sound.
