This is a collection of seven Great War poetry books. Please see below for details.
1. The Rhymes of a Red-Cross Man by Robert W Service (T Fisher Unwin, 1916). First edition, hardback. Good condition, foxed to prelims and edges but otherwise very readable. Some fading to spine.
2. Valour & Vision, Poems of the War 1914–1918, edited by Jacqueline Trotter. (Longmans, Green & Co, 1920). First edition, hardback. Fair condition, spine heavily worn to joints, some fading. Contents good. A well-respected anthology featuring some less well-known poetry.
3. A Treasury of War Poetry, British and American Poems of the World War 1914–1919, Second series, edited by George Herbert Clarke. (Houghton Mifflin, Boston, 1919). First US edition, bound in soft red leather. Fair condition, The contents good but the spine worn with slight loss. An anthology arranged by subject: England, America, Poets Mililtant, The Wounded, Women and the War etc
4. 1914 & Other Poems by Rupert Brook. (Sidgwick & Jackson, 1917). Reprint, hardback. Good condition, a bit dulled but perfectly readable.
5. The Poetical Works of Rupert Brooke, edited by Geoffrey Keynes. (Faber & Faber, 1947). Reprint, hardback bound in pebbled cloth with Brooke's profile in bas-relief to upper board.
6. Soldier Poets, Songs of the Fighting Men (Erskine Macdonald, 1917). Reprint (Trench edition). Pocket edition hardback. Good plus condition. An anthology featuring C H Sorley, Julian Grenfell, J W Streets and others.
7. More Songs by the Fighting Men, Soldier Poets: Second Series. Erskine Macdonald, 1917). First edition. Contents very good but large ink stain to upper board and spine. An anthology featuring poems from serving men, giving their regiments, including P H B Lyon, and many others.
Condition
Varying conditions but all remaining in a good readable state.
