A three act light opera with libretto by A P Herbert (the music was composed by Thomas Dunhill). From the dustwrapper, "Tantivy Towers in concerned with picturesque aspects of present day English life. It ranges from Bohemia to the hunt, and its theme may be described as the ancient conflict between 'Chelsea' and the 'Country', the artist and the man of action, or as one of the songs puts it, between Orpheus and Hercules". It was a great success, running for six months, touring America and Australia, and being revived in the mid 1930s.
Condition
The book is in very good condition with light tanning to the prelims and spotted foxing to the page edges. The dustwrapper is tanned to the edges and spine but is intact and now in a protective sleeve.
