Scene six caused a stir when it was first produced as Ulysses tears a cinema screen that is showing a war film to allow it to be screened on his bare chest. Eberhard Möller was to become one of the most famous authors of the Nazi era and was appointed to the Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda.
