Printing Details

First UK edition, first printing. Hardback in dustwrapper. 22 × 14cm, 330pp.

Signed and dedicated by Barbara Ker Wilson to the title page. As well as being an author, she worked at the publishers Collins where she read incoming new texts, and in the 1950s was the first person to read Michael Bond's Paddington story and commissioned it.

Recovering from a broken love affair, Jane Austen decides to accompany her aunt and uncle to New South Wales, where she falls in love once more and applies her considerable talents to creating a new society.

Condition

A good plus copy. There is light fading to the spine and minor rubbing to the wrapper's edges, it has not been price-clipped. Some finger-marking to the page edges and one small mark to the title page but otherwise a good clean copy.
