Printing Details
First edition, second impression. Hardback in dustwrapper. 22.5 × 14.5cm, 362pp.
This copy has a small collection of postcards (some had been posted) and newspaper clippings. The author Ethel Mannin was a friend of the previous owner and two of the postcards were from her.
The author recounts personal visits to twenty famous opera houses, including Italy, Austria, France and England, and writes of the composers, conductors and musicians associated with them. The previous owner had obviously travelled much of the same route and has annotated the ffep.
Condition
A good copy. The dustwrapper is a bit chipped but has not been price-clipped and now in a protective sleeve. The book has a little foxing and some spotted fading to the cloth binding but remains in strong readable condition.
