The Book of Common Prayer
1817, full leather, with the Psalms (1817 & 1819)
Cambridge Stereotyped Edition. Hardback, full black leather with five raised bands and gilt titling to spine. Page edges marbled. 18 × 10.5cm, 351pp , 72pp, 24pp.
A nice early 19th century Common Prayer, containing two printings of the Psalms (one with the original publication, the second printed in 1819 by the same printer), as well as a 24 page section entitled "Directions for a Devout and Decent Behaviour in the Public Worship of God; More Particularly in the Use of the Common Prayer Appointed by the Church of England".
A good copy. The joints and boards edges are rubbed and there is a previous owner's inked name to the title page (Wm Hutchinson 1820). The pages are a little age-toned but otherwise in good order.
