Printing Details

First edition, first printing. Hardback in dustwrapper. 19 × 12.5cm, 191pp.

Mary Agnes Hamilton's biography of fellow Labour politician, Margaret Bondfield. From the dustwrapper, "Mrs Hamilton's subject is the first woman who ever sat on the Government Front Bench, Margaret Bondfield. Miss Bondfield has given the whole of an energetic life to a cause in which she believes passionately. This is the story of that life—from shop counter to Front Bench".

Condition

The book is in good condition but has a faded spine. The pages are clean and the binding is secure. The fading corresponds to loss to the dustwrapper at the bottom 5.5cm of the spine, and there is also loss to the top edge, and a red stain to the rear panel. However the wrapper is a scarce survival and is now within a protective sleeve.
