The first of Thompson's Indian novels and is the story of Vincent Hamar, a judge in the Civil Service who is deeply fond of India and sympathetic to Indians. He is sent to a small place called Vishnugram as a punishment after refusing to jail some Swarajists where he meets two missionaries, Alden and Findley, who share his love of Indian thought and philosophy.

Condition

This copy is in good condition. There is some rubbing to the boards but the contents are in good order with secure binding and clean pages.
