Printing Details

Fourth (revised and enlarged) edition, hardback bound in blue cloth spine with printed titling and paper covered boards. 21.5 × 13.5cm, 238pp.

The Alien Menace is one of a spate of books of an antisemitic nature that were published in the interwar years. This one "tells the truth as to what is behind most of the troubles in the British Isles and Empire", with chapters such as "The Alien and Public Morals", "The Alien and the BBC", "Alien Control in Palestine" etc etc. This copy comes with an original flyer for the book.

The author, Arthur Henry Lane (1868–1938), was a member of the Unity Band Party and The Britons, two minor fascist parties, the latter with links to the BUF, and was a founding member of the Militant Christian Patriots, a short-lived but influential anti-Semitic organisation active in the United Kingdom immediately prior to the Second World War.

A good copy but with some wear. The blue cloth spine is creased and has light faded patches. There is some rubbing to the fore-edge of the rear board. However, the contents are in decent condition with clean pages and secure binding.
