Raffles, The Amateur Cracksman
c1927, in a super dustwrapper
Undated, small hardback in dustwrapper. 17 × 11cm, 253pp.
An early entry in the Reader's Library catalogue. Raffles was "gentleman thief", living at The Albany, a prestigious address in London, playing cricket for the Gentlemen of England and supporting himself by carrying out ingenious burglaries.
The book is in fair condition, as most Reader's Library books tend to be, with heavily tanned pages and straining to the binding. The dustwrapper suffers some small areas of loss to the corners and spine ends but is a wonderful design.
