This copy has been signed directly to the title page by Robert Layton. There is also a warm personal inscription from the author to the ffep "To Harry with every good wish from Bob, 25 April 1959". A previous owner has also stuck a commemorative Berwald stamp to the front pastedown.

This book is the "first comprehensive study of examine Berwald's musical style in general with the thoroughness it deserves". The book is illustrated with a frontispiece portrait and examples of musical scores.


The books is in very good condition. The dustwrapper is complete and in a protective sleeve but a little grubby to the surface.
