First edition, hardback bound in the original red cloth with gilt titling to spine and printed titling to upper board. 19.5 × 12.5cm, 360pp + 32pp ads.

Inscribed by the author, "The Deaness of every Faculty, from the author, 5.x.09", with a further inscription below "C B Taylor from Lady Scott Dickson"

A light and genial romance. Ian Hay (1876–1952) was a soldier, schoolmaster and author best known for his Great War account of Army life, The First Hundred Thousand.


Good condition. There is fading to the cloth spine and foxing to the endpapers and pastedowns. The main body of text is in good, clean condition.
